Before the remodel, the basement had no bathroom, making it hard for the family to use the lower level for workouts, hosting, or hangouts without constantly going upstairs. The goal was to create a bathroom that felt elevated and cohesive with the rest of the clean, warm, and organic design.
Our client wanted this bathroom to feel like a continuation of the warm and organic palette we created going through the rest of the basement. She imagined stone-inspired tile, brass fixtures, and finishes that felt soft and natural rather than harsh or utilitarian. We both loved the idea of a fluted marble sink as a sculptural moment, with Roman clay walls to add warmth and texture. Using the same tile on the shower walls and floors in different layouts helped bring subtle interest while keeping the design calm and cohesive.
