Before the remodel, the owners were using just an open corner of the unfinished basement to workout in. It worked, but it didn’t feel motivating (or organized!). The goal was to create a true home gym that felt intentional for its desired purpose, with durable materials that can withstand a hard workout, and a design that stayed connected to the rest of the basement.
They wanted a space where they could truly feel like they were “going to the gym,” without ever leaving home. Think: room to move, equipment that stays in place, and finishes that could handle real workouts. We brought in sports-specific flooring for comfort and durability, painted the walls a grounding deep green to set an active tone, and added a large 8-foot glass door to separate the gym from the living area while still keeping the basement feeling open and connected. Inspiring artwork finished off the space.
