What was once an unfinished laundry room with cement floors and exposed cinder block walls became one of the most joyful spaces in the basement. To make the layout functional, we trenched over 12 feet of concrete to relocate plumbing to the best spot to create a layout that actually made sense for how the family used the space. With fresh light and a design that matched their style, this room went from purely utilitarian to a space that genuinely felt good to be in.
Our client wanted the laundry room to feel like a true extension of the home instead of a cold, unfinished corner she had to tolerate. She imagined something cheerful and energizing, with real storage and a layout that made the space easier to use day-to-day. Bold color and pattern were at the top of her list, which led to the striking, nature-inspired wallpaper that instantly transformed the room. Paired with crisp white cabinetry, warm wood-look floors, a farmhouse sink, and brass hardware, the goal was to create a space that felt organized, vibrant, and unexpectedly beautiful—its own little moment of joy in the basement.
